Pilgrim Cottage Cattery has been established for over 18 years in Chipperfield, Herts
and is fully licenced.
All our luxury runs have ceramic tiled floors, white melamine partitioning and are
28 square feet (big enough for three to four cats from the same household).
Each cattery block is centrally heated as well as having heated beds. Our heating
stays on 24/7 throughout the cold period. We are the first ‘Airsource’ centrally
heated Cattery, temperature controlled at all times. The elderly cats really appreciate
the infra red lamps as well which were recommended by the FAB.
All our runs are sprayed with a product called 'feliway' before each cat comes in.
It is proven to prevent stress and to help the cats cope with changes in the environment. When
you bring your cat for their stay, you always see him or her into their run and are
very welcome to stay with them until you are happy they are settled. We feel this
is extremely important and have great pleasure in watching each cat 'blossom' each
time they come here. When your cat is boarding, you are very welcome to contact us
during opening hours to see how they are settled, at the end of the day, they are
part of our family! We keep extensive notes on each cat and if there is anything
we are concerned about, we contact your own vets immediately.
We stock every type of food as well as freshly cooked fish and chicken.
We supply fleecy bedding and toys, but always encourage you to bring anything from
home that is familiar to your cat. From cushions to clothing, we have even had duvets
- don’t worry, the runs are plenty big enough.
Our main priority is to spend lots of time with each cat. Some are lap cats, some
like to be stroked or groomed and some just like you being there.
Each luxury block has six large runs and the front is glass panelled so the cats
can see out at all times. In the summer the whole front slides open making it cool
in the hottest of weather.
We have four acres of paddocks and two ponies so there’s always something for the
cats to watch during the day.
We are quite happy to give cats their regular medication and prescription food which
must be supplied by you.
Our work is not limited to caring for clients’ cats, we also re-home cats through
our close relationship with the Cat Protection League.
